Why Wales

Wales is a Country interesting in many respects and deserving of more attention than has been met with. Though not very extensive, it is one of the most picturesque Countries in the World, a Country in which nature displays herself in her wildest, boldest, and occasionally loveliest forms.

So the celebrated travel writer, George Borrow wrote in his book Wild Wales, published in 1862. Much of what inspired him remains unchanged to date. There are exceptional game, course and carp fishing opportunities, wherever you go in Wales from high mountain lakes, rich fertile lowland lakes and rivers of such variety, all of them only a short journey apart. This versatility makes Wales a true angler’s paradise.

This website gives you a taste of what North Wales has to offer for this year, next year we will be bringing Mid-Wales on board. With an abundance of choice, the angler, whatever his quarry, will find sanctuary from modern life.

The quality and quantity of easily available carp fishing all over Wales has enormously increased during the past ten years. Wherever you stay, you will not be far from several good carp venues whether your preference is for specimens or simply nets full of fish. They inhabit all kinds of water going up right into the mountains to 1,300ft above sea level, some of these wilder places are holding surprisingly large fish.

Many managed fisheries have carp as their speciality providing excellent sport for their visitors with all degrees of experience, from the novice to the expert. There are a few Monsters exceeding 40lbs mark that are known to inhabit a few waters and in several more 25lbers are common place. Just do the right things at the right time and you could be seen cuddling your ”fish of a life time”.
